First of all, just what are survival food supplies?

These are supplies that are stored for survival situations, like when there is a natural disaster, or you are stranded in your vehicle somewhere.

There are many different kinds of survival food, from energy bars, containing all the necessary nutrients and calories for a whole day.

There are dry and powdered food, like powdered milk, and eggs.

There is also dehydrated food.

Some of these come in big buckets and contain about   50 to over a 100 packets of ready to eat meals   like  beef, chicken ,veggies ,soups and pasta . You have to know  that for survival purposes these are the best to conserve, because of the reduced space and weight they occupy.

Dehydrated survival food supplies can also be in the form of sealed meals. These are complete dishes that have been cooked and freeze dried, then packaged. You can find meals like cheese, chicken and rice, lasagna with real meat sauce. You simply pour boiling water into the pouch, shake it up and wait the required time, then serve.

Canned Foods are the best in absolute ,survival food ,as they contain water with whatever else is inside, also they have a good long term shelf life, but heavy to transport .

The thing that a lot of people don’t realize , is water.

It takes water to rehydrate dehydrated foods, and it takes water for freeze dried foods as well.

Water is the most important ingredient of a survival supply.

  A normal healthy person can  survive for  15 or more days Without food, but without water you will not.

Survival  without Water is about 3 to five days , depending on  a number of factors. Another aspect that most people don’t consider is that in a survival situation, a natural disaster, fire flood, or earthquake for example, water sources can be contaminated.

Sewer lines can rupture and get into the water supply, as well as a number of other things.

Chances are also likely that you will not have any water supply at all from local sources, especially right after an emergency.

If you are out in the bush,  you can’t count on that stream to provide you with clean drinking water because the source could be contaminated,  this is why i urge all to get a simple but effective Water Filter.

The Main thing is to have an Emergency Water Filter which are and used by many such as survivalists,hikers,campers and trekkers also the army.
